Archy Stranger Interview - Interesting Song Writing

Archy Stranger has returned to the music scene with the release of ‘Last Week’. We previously spoke to the Melbourne muso, which you can find HERE. This time we touched base about his new single, working with Brissy pop star, Austen, and the future of the project.

Futuremag Music: Hey Archy Stranger, what's cracking?

Archy Stranger: Hey, not too much.

Futuremag Music: It's been a little while since we last spoke. How have you evolved in regards to your writing and production?

Archy Stranger: I’ve been working with a bunch of amazing up and coming Australian artists doing production for them as well as working on my own stuff. I’ve got some exciting new tracks I’ve been working on for Brisbane singer-songwriter Austen, which should hopefully come out sometime next year.

Futuremag Music: Your new single, 'Last Week' is a lush ensemble. Can you talk us through the production process?

Archy Stranger: I started writing the song on an old Hammond organ that I got my hands on a few years back. The organ has two different keyboards which kind of inspired some different playing and some interesting song writing. The song itself was originally intended to be a bit more of an ambient inspired slow burner but developed throughout the year into the current version you hear now.

Futuremag Music: What's the plan for the Archy Stranger project in the coming year?

Archy Stranger: I’ve had an EP in the works for a while now which will hopefully surface sometime next year. I’m also planning on continuing to work on songwriting for some more artists as well as putting together a live show.
