Welcome to first edition of Future Focus, a collection of releases from the forward thinking and future sounds of the electronic scene. Gorge yourself with top notch music from rising sensations and established acts. This week we have four sensational releases from Futuremag Music favourites, Kult Kyss, Self Tape, Eluera and PNK FME.

Kult Kyss - Be Cool

Melbourne’s Kult Kyss (Rromarin and Haxx) have been a staple for Futuremag Music since the project’s inception. Now the duo have returned with ‘Be Cool’, a vivacious release brimming with experimental elements. Co-produced alongside Cam Bluff and mixed by Anthony Garvin, Kult Kyss’ signature sonic blossoms within ‘Be Cool’s lush vistas. Rromarin and Haxx’s adept artistry shines with a sprightly vigour.

With each release, the Kult Kyss bolster their stance within the Australian music scene.

In creating the track we wanted to strike a sonic balance between the modern and retrospective sounds of UK house music, drawing influences from artists like Jamie XX and Bicep, with throwbacks to the synthesised trance throbs of the ‘90s.

Self Tape - Urban Vintage (Feat. Isadora)

Since discovering Self Tape earlier this year, I’ve been enthralled with the Sydney act’s amalgamation of lounge and house. Joining forces Isadora, the pair have released ‘Urban Vintage’ a buoyant house tune pulled from Self Tape’s forthcoming debut EP. The single evolves the artist’s established style with class and prosperity. A grooving beat and succulent synths morph with Isadora’s soothing vocal arrangement resulting in an ethereal dance release.

With an EP on the way, I can safely say that Self Tape is here to stay.

I’m very proud of this collaboration as it’s the first lyric track I’ve put out. ‘Urban Vintage’ explores new sounds that’ll be present in my new body of work.

Eluera - Good When We Fight

I discovered Eluera back in 2017 just before she dipped into an extended writing period. During that time, the NSW Central Coast artist refined her craft, resulting in a triumphant return with ‘Good When We Fight’. Co-written and produced by Dylan Nash, the composition exudes charm and a personable allure. Eluera’s sultry vocals cascade through the verdant soundscape. If you love the soaring pop sounds of Wafia, Vera Blue, or Eves Karydas, you’ll adore Eluera’s superb sonic.

Be sure to keep a close eye on Eluera as she rises the ranks.

‘Good When We Fight’ is about slipping into old habits of a chaotic relationship. Although there was something that drew us to each other and we knew it wasn’t healthy, it was very easy to stay in routine.

PNK FME - Not Okay

Adelaide producer and vocalist, PNK FME delivers a haunting insight into the tormented mind during a time of turmoil with 'Not Okay'. The caliginous contortion of traditional sonic structures expresses a story close to PNK FME's heart. Through the administering of an escalating fervent tension, PNK FME designs a level of disquiet, before a stirring sonic shift in the final verse. Gnarled synths, distorted drums and spacious pads generate an uneasy bed for PNK FME's tender vocal performance to shine through.

PNK FME is a standout in the pop releam, be sure to keep an eye on him as he continues to make movements.

‘Not Okay’ is about delving into the mind when you’re feeling alone with your personal fights. The track’s core is a totally honest experience where I put it all on the table and came to terms with an incredibly raw and confronting prospect. Dissecting these notions of suffering and dismay and enacting a plan for recovery can create a new path and enable growth. It’s okay not to be okay but come to terms with it and pursue personal prosperity.
