Jordan F - Club Italo [PREMIERE]

By Joshua Bowling (Dream Coast)

Showing no sign of slowing down after the release of last years’ excellent Memory Collision LP, Jordan F returns with the euphoric ‘Club Italo.’ Premiering the single exclusively with Futuremag Music, the Sydney-based artist continues his hot-streak with a hypnotic four-to-the-floor affair.

Featuring driving drum programming and gorgeous arpeggiated synthesiser sequences, ‘Club Italo’ showcases the best of the Jordan F sound he has developed over the best part of the last decade. Channeling the retro sounds of the 80’s while retaining a modern approach to structure and production, the italo-indebted track is an ode to travel and simpler times.

Jordan F’s new four track EP, Eurowave is scheduled for a limited vinyl release in May with sleeve design by Overglow. ‘Club Italo’ will be available to stream on all streaming services from April 2nd.

‘Club Italo’ is the first single taken from my upcoming EP and inspired by my 2019 European summer holiday. With COVID-19 affecting travel throughout 2020 and beyond, I found myself reflecting on overseas travel... Walking the streets of Rome, relaxing in the Tuscan countryside or basking in the sun by a beach club in the south of France. Even just a few years ago, things were a lot simpler.

I wanted to make a track that made me feel like I was dancing in an Italian discotheque. Being inspired by Europe, the track takes influences from the italo disco and French touch movements, particularly in the production, to drive the rhythm and movement of the song. The drums are at the forefront of the track, supported by a bouncy arpeggiated bass, spacey synth pads and bright plucked melodies. All of these elements work together to create my quintessential italo journey.

Mila Nile - Don’t Need Your Love

By Luke Byatt

No lie, I may have fan boy screamed when I saw Mila Nile release ‘Don’t Need Your Love’… The lavish Dance Pop record is a superb addition to her blossoming catalogue.

Mila Nile’s ‘Don’t Need Your Love’ encompasses Scandinavian Pop while also imbuing a distinctive Aussie flair. This blend of culture sets the ascending act apart from her contemporaries. With every release the rising Pop star ups spectacle in every way, from the writing and production to the accompanying visual identity. I’m steadfast in my opinion that Mila Nile is one of the best acts to break through the monotony of today’s Commercial Pop landscape, with ‘Don’t Need Your Love’ being a testament to that.

I’m beyond excited to hear what’s next for Mila Nile, as the project continues to flourish.

It’s about a toxic relationship, but not with a person, with a feeling - validation. I wrote ‘Don’t Need Your Love’ as an anthem to remind myself that I’m good enough and that my worth isn’t based on others’ perceptions of me. Some days can feel like every mirror shows you’re not good enough, every app tells you’re not interesting enough, and people in your life can make you feel not worthy enough. If you make music, it sometimes feels like every part of the industry is telling you you’re not talented enough.

EDDIE - A Better Place

By Luke Byatt

EDDIE, Australia’s answer to Deadmau5 returns with ‘A Better Place’.

‘A Better Place’ is an A-Grade example of melancholy Dance. The track swoons with somber tones while also retaining a buoyant beat that drives the record to the dance floor. His aptitude to create lush soundscapes has seen him garner backing from deadmau5, Marshmello, The Aston Shuffle and many more, while also obtaining over twelve million listens across streaming services. ‘A Better Place’ is set to propel the Melbourne based producer to new heights.

I’m eager to hear what’s to come from EDDIE as the year unfolds.

I’m over the moon for ‘A Better Place’ to see the light of day. It’s a perfect balance of my progressive style with emotional vocals to mirror the melodies throughout the record. I really feel it’s something that a lot of people will connect with too especially because of last year.
