For those who know me, they can say with certainty that I adore emotional electro that caresses the soul with its sensuous structure. That said, I do have a soft spot for lush dance music, and Brisbane producer, Pilot has filled that spot in my heart with the release of his debut EP, Innate.

Innate. captures the celestial and uplifting elements of future and capitalises on it. Over its four tracks, Innate morphs sensational synth ensembles with grooving beats and an overarching sense of joy. Opening the EP is ‘Candour’ and its verdant aesthetic, the track sets a lavish stage for the remaining three tracks to blossom upon. Following suit is ‘Subsequent’, with its sweeping soundscape that captures the subtle nuances of future electro in the single’s opulent composition. The EP’s title track ‘Innate.’ flourishes as succulent synths, bubbly beats and mellow melodies dance throughout the single’s sparse scope. Closing Innate is ‘Egress’ forward thinking and future focused soundscape.

For a debut EP, Pilot has nailed his direction and suave sonics. I can’t wait to hear what’s to come from this establishing act.
