Vincent Sole - Hometown Show

19-year-old Vincent Sole has a dark, moody sound that quickly transforms from catchy to addictive, as you delve into each of his electro pop, melodic soundscapes. You could describe Vincent’s sound as a perfect mix of Allday’s vocal stylings, Chet Faker’s dance floor-ready production and a brooding, ominous sound inspired by Lorde.

Emerging onto the scene with the help of producer Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Taku) Vincent has the approval of some big name figures who have applauded the musician on his mature and developed work at such an early age.

In a modest and cosy upstairs venue of The Gasometer, Vincent played to an eager crowd on Saturday night for his first hometown show. Singing proudly along to singles like The Game, Don’t Waste My Time and Deep End, fans were crammed from front to back of the venue, vibing with Vincent’s smooth and effortlessly euphoric vocals.

Despite being his debut live show, the artist experimented with some new tracks that kept true to the signature sound of swelling synths and a full, electronic production. His captivated audience, buzzing with excitement, seemed to take to it well – lighting the cosy space up with their smartphones flashes, in true 2017 tech-era spirit.

The venue, filled with such a rare, overwhelming atmosphere, transformed Vincent’s performance beyond just a single launch, but an opportunity to showcase his live talent without the bells and whistles of production or editing.

His sound, in many ways, seemed larger and more fearless live in comparison to the recorded singles, which have been gaining traction online as well as spinning on community radio.

The performance ended on a high, leaving those watching Vincent in awe - wanting to hear more - and excited to see what the Melbourne artist will do next. Until then, Vincent Sole is a rising talent the electronic music industry would be smart to keep their eye on. One who we are sure will pack out the main room of The Gasometer in the not-too-distant future.
