EXTENDED PLAY 038: PEACH PRC, SAN JOSEPH, NYASSA, KEZRA AND SANJU

Hot releases of the week chosen by Futuremag Music Editor, Brooke Gibbs.

PEACH PRC - PERFECT FOR YOU

Paying tribute to Paris Hilton’s Stars Are Blind, Peach PRC has released the dance anthem of the month.

“I wrote this song in one night and thought nobody would ever hear it. I was crushing so hard on this girl, and we hadn’t even kissed when I wrote the song, so the longing in those lyrics is straight up how I was feeling,” Peach PRC said about the track.

“There was a night we laid on the grass looking up at the sky and listened to Stars Are Blind by Paris Hilton with one earphone each. I remember being excited and making TikTok videos to Stars Are Blind because the song had always meant so much to me. It’s just an amazing full circle moment to have Paris Hilton’s blessing on the single.”

Peach PRC will release her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie, on April 28. I’m super excited for this release!

SAN JOSEPH - THIS CITY SUCKS

Melbourne’s San Joseph has released a new breezy alt-pop anthem, carving out his own lane of journal pop.

As the prequel to his previous single How To Miss You, San Joseph tells of how being disillusioned by a new city became the conception of his new single.

“I'd spent some time in California with someone wonderful who returned home to Montreal. She'd always comment on how overrated LA was and I would strongly disagree... until she left.  I realised I only really dug L.A. because she was there. Suddenly the traffic, chaos and stardom didn't seem as appealing anymore,” he said about the track.

NYASSA - GHOST

Nyassa is making notable first impressions with her debut single, Ghost.

“Making music feels like being in love – you’re in another world, a beautiful one,” said Nyassa about her debut single. “I want to make people feel something that they can't explain… I naturally put a piece of my soul into my songs.”

With Ghost, Nyassa makes an impassioned, confident statement of self, proclaiming the infiniteness of her love. It’s a stunning introduction to a bold talent, and the first taste of an enigmatic new sound.

We can’t wait to hear more from this Adelaide-based artist!

SANJU - DON’T RUSH

Brisbane artist SANJU could easily be Australia’s equivalent of Ed Sheeran. This release is fun, energetic, catchy and happy.

Sanju described the track as, “Rooftop New Year's party. I see a girl. I go a little crazy. I fall in love. I get so nervous, I can't even speak to her. So nervous I feel like I may pee my pants. My friends try to help me, but I just can't do it. So what do I do? I go home. And I dream about her. Our union. Our marriage. Our future babies. Our entire story. I can't stop. Where does this all lead? I write a song. One that says it all. And I never see her again.”

We can’t wait to see what this independent artist gets up to next!

KEZRA - INSANE

Insane is a powerful dose of pure indie-pop brilliance mixed with spellbinding lyrics, led by KEZRA's delicate yet captivating vocals, carrying the listener's complete and undivided attention throughout.

KEZRA uses her songwriting to capture hauntingly ethereal soundscapes where music and story-telling meet. The dreamy pop-infused synth and expansive drums create an addictive, solitary chorus, before the track enters its sombre bridge, leaving you dazzled and bound, craving more by the final chorus.
