Poppy & Grimes - Play Destroy
Two of the quirkiest artists around, Poppy and Grimes have released ‘Play Destroy’.
‘Play Destroy’ sounds half like a Hasbro toy advert and partly like a gritty Chelsea Wolfe single. Kicking up to 100 immediately, Grimes’ soothing vocals contrast the metal influenced production; creating a unique and unsettling atmosphere. Grimes is an excellent feature choice for Poppy’s abnormal, anti-pop music. Poppy sells ‘Play Destroy’ through the wide-eyed innocence, yet sly knowing that she displays through-out the track but also in her public aesthetic in general.
